If you love fashion and good, quality beauty products, you will be happy to find out that the designer Roland Mouret is launching his first beauty product. It is a body serum that he has developed in collaboration with Aromatheray Associates, which “brings a velvet touch on the skin of a woman”, as Mouret said.

The Final Finish Body Serum is meant smooth your arms, legs and décolletage, and to give you a very soft, glowing finish, after you put on a dress. The new product combines essential oils and natural ingredients such as evening primrose, jojoba, rose and vanilla.

Mouret said that he truly loves women, and this is why he thought about creating a product to enhance their skin beauty:
“I truly love women, all women. By the time a woman puts on one of my dresses we’re already into the second part of our relationship. Final Finish is yet another touch on the skin of a woman.”

The serum will be launched on September 24 and will be priced at 52,26 €. You will be able to find it on

“I love to play with colours for spring”, Frida Giannini stated backstage, before the start of the Gucci Spring/Summer 2013 show.

Thus, colours exploded all over the runway, in the form of tunics over straight-cut trousers, daytime dresses with ruffles at the shoulders and cuffs, elegant nighttime looks with sensual silhouettes, cocktail dresses with a myriad oversize ruffles and long jackets, perfect for a spring day out on the town. And if within the first part of the show, the entire colour spectrum of the rainbow took over the runway, from coral red, to cobalt blue, citrus yellow, turquoise and vibrant green, the last part of the presentation was reserved for the black and white looks, for a dramatic finale.

Emporio Armani

Named simply “Neat”, Giorgio Armani’s collection for Emporio Armani Spring/Summer 2013 honoured its name, thanks to its fresh, youthful vibe.

The short trousers paired with sharp jackets and blazers, the mini skirts in fine silk, the short dresses with asymmetric hems and the ones with deep V-necks perfectly encapsulated the air of the entire collection, aimed towards a younger audience than the designer’s usual public.

Just like each season, Miuccia Prada is the one to dictate trends, and for this spring, she has decided that nostalgia is back in fashion.

Miuccia’s melancholy isn’t however at all gloomy and sombre, heavily leaning instead towards romanticism: nearly every look was punctuated by floral accents, be it in the form of printed flowers on tops, dresses and coats, an explosion of painted flowers on fur coats or in the form of floral appliqués on the origami-like pleats of Japanese-inspired satin pieces.

Accessories played an important role in the collection as well. Bags and wide-rimmed sunglasses with floral appliqués and sky-high platform sandals inspired by traditional Japanese footwear brought a dose of freshness and a playful tone to the collection.

“An ode to a never-forgotten elegance” – this is how Anna Molinari imagined the Blumarine Spring/Summer 2013 collection.

Fluid silhouettes with bare shoulders and breezy, seemingly weightless skirts, pastel colours, degradées, Art Deco embroidery with stones, crystals and shimmering paillettes, tulle and lace dresses embellished with fine metallic chains, iridescent colours, floral prints on chiffon and silk – all came together to create a collection abounding with femininity and romanticism, fit for the ethereal wardrobe of a fairy.

Fashion shows draw the most captivating trends for the next season. This autumn and winter it’s all about keeping it simple. Here are some of the most flattering trends, straight from the catwalk.

Fine Hair

You struggled all life with fine hair, with no volume? This fall you can relax. It’s time for enjoying natural, flat looking hair.

Peter Som

Ponytails never seem to go out of fashion. Jason Wu, Ralph Lauren and Marc Jacobs are just some of the designers who preferred this hairstyle for emphasizing their fall collections. Make your hair sleek and flat, add shine and simply pull it in a precise, low, ponytail.

Ralph Lauren

Braids are here to stay

Play with your hair and braid it the way you like it. Twisting hair around the crown or in an updo is fun and modern. Take a look at Valentino and Fendi.

Retro updo’s are in trend also, as opposed to the flat hair. In order to obtain it, roll your hair and tuck it under, for extra volume. Also, be prepared to use a lot of hairspray, to keep hair in place.

Carolina Herrera

What wouldn’t you give for a relaxing Spa session at the end of a stressful day at the office, so that you could let all your worries be washed away by the delicate essential oils that gently caress your body? What can you do, though, if you can’t afford this kind of luxury?

Follow a few simple tips and you can bring the relaxing atmosphere of a luxury Spa in the comfort of your own home:

>> Remember that the blender is your ally not only when it comes to making delicious fruit juices, but can also help you in preparing facial masks in no time. Mix together fruits, yoghurt or honey, depending on your skin’s needs, and voilà – a facial mask within minutes, for a super-fresh complexion.

>> Let your body lotion warm up over a radiator about 15 minutes before you plan on using it. The heat ensures that its formula will penetrate your skin faster and better, and the warmth will give you a nice and cozy feeling.

>> Transform your bathroom into a sauna. Let he hot water from the shower run until the room fills with steam, and then take a warm washcloth and sprinkle a few drops of your favourite essential oil onto it. Breathe in the soothing aroma and let your entire body relax.

>> Shut down the lights and enjoy a relaxing candlelit bubble bath. You can even use scented candles, that you can coordinate with the scent of your bath products.

>> Put on a pair of gloves and socks after you’ve treated your hands and feet with a nourishing lotion, and go watch your favourite TV programme. The extra heat will ensure that the lotion is better absorbed into your skin.

You may find washing your hair the least important part in styling your hair the way you like it, but in fact washing it properly can make a huge difference. Here are three of the common mistakes you need to avoid:

1. Not wetting your hair enough

Wetting your hair completely is very important. Don’t skip this detail, even if you’re busy and you need to wash it quickly. Dirt is much easier to clean if hair is soaked wet first, so the shampoo can penetrate better.

2. Shampooing the ends

Try to apply shampoo mostly on your roots, where oil is produced. The ends of the hair are the ones that dry faster, and shampooing them too hard will only accentuate the lack of moisture. On the other hand, put conditioner on your ends, and keep it away from the roots, not to get your hair greasy.

3. Not washing enough, or washing too often

Indeed, it is better not to wash your hair often, but this is not a rule. Depending on the type of hair and the activities you do, you can wash your hair once a week, or daily. If you normally exercise everyday and you do a lot of workout, you can wash it more often, but it is better to use a shampoo gentle enough for everyday use. Also, straight hair tends to become greasy faster than curly hair, which is usually drier.

How important is the way you look and feel for your sexual life? Studies say it’s almost vital. A survey made by the University of Pittsburg shows that cosmetic surgery can increase not only women’s self-esteem, but also boost their sex lives.

According to lead researcher Guy M. Stofman, chief of plastic surgery at the Mercy Hospital in Pittsburgh, after breast, abdomen, and thigh procedures, 95 percent of patients said they felt much better in their new bodies and their self-esteem grew considerably. More than half of the people involved in the survey said their sexual life improved.

Out of all the interventions, the breast and the body surgery lead to the best results concerning self-esteem and sexual life. Eighty percent of breast and 50 percent of body-surgery patients said they experienced more frequent and powerful orgasms.

On the other hand, face-and brow-lift patients didn’t report significant improvements in their sex lives.

Chapelier extraordinaire Philip Treacy is back on the runway of London Fashion Week after an absence of over a decade, with a highly-acclaimed collection in his classic bizarre-glamour style.

And if there’s anyone in the whole world who understands the importance of an eccentric appearance just like Treacy does, it’s none other than Lady Gaga, a big fan of the designer’s hats and fascinators, who was invited to open the show in a hot pink cape and Alexander McQueen sky-high footwear.

So, what are Treacy’s proposals for this season, for the woman who plans to make a statement by looking extravagant and stylish? Metallic fascinators in shiny silver and gold, or encrusted with a myriad sparkling crystals, dramatic veils in black silk with botanical-inspired embroidery, circular constructions that seem to defy the laws of gravity, feather fascinators, oversize Mickey Mouse ears and LED-illuminated hats.

Each extravagant piece from Treacy’s collection was brought to the runway on the head of black models, and paired with a genuine outfit from Micheal Jackson’s wardrobe, which the designer borrowed especially for his show, before it is set to go to auction in December.

How many times have you watched fashion shows feeling like a kid in a candy store, only to realise with resignation that you cannot afford a single piece of clothing presented on the runway? How many times have you checked your full closet only to find nothing to wear?
