Chapelier extraordinaire Philip Treacy is back on the runway of London Fashion Week after an absence of over a decade, with a highly-acclaimed collection in his classic bizarre-glamour style.

And if there’s anyone in the whole world who understands the importance of an eccentric appearance just like Treacy does, it’s none other than Lady Gaga, a big fan of the designer’s hats and fascinators, who was invited to open the show in a hot pink cape and Alexander McQueen sky-high footwear.

So, what are Treacy’s proposals for this season, for the woman who plans to make a statement by looking extravagant and stylish? Metallic fascinators in shiny silver and gold, or encrusted with a myriad sparkling crystals, dramatic veils in black silk with botanical-inspired embroidery, circular constructions that seem to defy the laws of gravity, feather fascinators, oversize Mickey Mouse ears and LED-illuminated hats.

Each extravagant piece from Treacy’s collection was brought to the runway on the head of black models, and paired with a genuine outfit from Micheal Jackson’s wardrobe, which the designer borrowed especially for his show, before it is set to go to auction in December.

Crowned the edgiest fashion capital of the world, it’s time to see London in full-fashion action as Somerset House opens its doors to London Fashion Week in just a few days time! Join FashionTV in the front row at your favorite shows.

We’ve seen what New York Fashion Week has to offer, who’s been to-ing, who’s been front-row -ing, who shows up in the hottest catwalk looks of the season, and what’s got the camera bulbs (we mean, Instagram lenses) flashing. But on Friday, September 14, fashion week will be handing over the stage to the Brits, where a little outrageous fashion is always in the cards.

Expect the Unexpected

All fashioned-out? Not a chance! The fun has only just begun and FashionTV can’t contain their excitement for the start of London Fashion Week. Amongst the list of design greats to hit the London runways are Australian design duo and London favs Sass & Bide, who will take to the stage with a collection of clean, sharp lines channeling a male energy for S/S 2013, while German sisters of cool, Felder Felder, warn to expect the unexpected from them at this season’s show!

Happy Birthday Matthew Williamson

Celebrating 15 years on the circuit in September, Matthew Williamson, famed for his colorful and embellished gowns will also be making this season’s collection a memorable one, he promises, taking inspiration from India!  And then there’s the classics. Vivienne Westwood will be presenting her Red Label, John Rocha with his “Happy!” collection, not forgetting his daughter, Simone Rocha. While Alice Temperley will be joined by Paul Smith, Burberry Prorsum, Pringle of Scotland, and bag mavericks Mulberry and Anya Hindmarch, who will grace our screens with their seasonal creations, amongst many many more!

And as it goes, London Fashion week, notoriously comes with a bit of quirk, and designers almost never follow the rules. Last season, Meadham Kirchhoff’s Fall 2012 show took things to the extreme with his bobbly collection of one pop of color after another, Sadie Frost took to the front row with her 12-year-old daughter dressed in a questionably expletive dress, and Stella McCartney even hosted a strip-tease fashion party!

The Next Big Thing?

But London Fashion Week isn’t just about the established. Vaxhaull Fashion Scout will be presenting emerging designers hand-picked for their Graduate Showcase, for the second time since its launch in September. The lineup this season will feature up-and-coming talents from some of the UK’s leading universities on day one. So watch out… you might be looking at the new Vivienne Westwood before even they know it!

Name of the Game

As usual, the A-listers and fashionistas will cause a paparazzi scrum as they come to support designers at London’s Fashion Week. Remember Kanye West and Sienna Miller’s appearance at Burberry Prorsum? That turned out to be the ultimate star-studded event, as they were joined by supermodels Rosie Huntington-Whiteley and Lily Donaldson, Kate Bosworth, and Will.I.Am. Question being, where will style icons Kate Middleton, and sister Pippa make an appearance this year? FashionTV will bring you first-hand celebrity spottings straight to your screens.

These days, everyone wants a piece of Marc Jacobs.  So what is it about the man of the moment that makes his designs so delectable? FashionTV takes a look at Marc Jacobs S/S 2013 collection, to reveal all.

We always thought that socks and sandals were the ultimate fashion faux-pas and something to leave to the physics teachers in their nonchalant way. Turns out, we were wrong! Once again Marc Jacobs has broken the rules in his quintessentially cool way, with a colorful mix and non-match of layers, patterns, and fabrics for Marc by Marc Jacobs S/S 2013.

Marc by Marc Jacobs: Time to Wrap Up

Marc by Marc Jacobs brightened up the catwalk this year with a riot of colors, playful stripes, and romantic silhouettes. But what made this collection such a crowd pleaser?

What only could be described as a collection inspired by a happy-go-lucky trip to the jumble-sale, upon closer inspection, holds the key to trans-seasonal weather changes — the scarf. A multicolored accessory that featured on every female model that took to the catwalk, whether it was loosely coiled around her neck, wrapped around her waist, or tied in a casual turban on her head, showing us the Maasai way to embrace the chilly season.

While for the men, playful paper bag pants and loose-fitting blazers with rolled up sleeves, accessorised by statement sunglasses and artist caps, could give even the Jonas brothers (spotted in the front-row), a few pointers in the direction of cool. This collection is the ultimate mood-enhancer on a rainy day.

Marc Jacobs: Lets Get Edie

Always a celebrity favorite Jacobs never fails to impress. You can see it from the first collection–a cute one at that at that, as a sexy Mod- take on Edie Sedgwick’s look was carried to the catwalk for Marc Jacobs S/S 2013 collection. The designer adorned everything from suits, to hip-slung midi-skirts, A-line coats, T-shirts, and floor-length dresses in graphic stripes, stripes, and more stripes, of all shapes and sizes. While the models kitten heels, Edie-hair, and cleopatra eyes added a touch of vixen to the stage, Jacobs amped up the bold collection with frivolous touches.

Did you see the cropped Mickey Mouse sweater? Perhaps a tongue-in-cheek play on London Fashion Week’s “Minnie Mouse Must Haves” accessories and garments set to hit the runway. Mixing references from Andy Warhol’s Factory Girls, to Bridget Riley’s Op Art, and Sixties “It” girls — as Vogue pointed out — the collection seemed to give a nod to the 1996 fashion spoof “Qui êtes-vous, Polly Maggoo?”

Jacobs’ satirical touches help define nothing other than his own distinguishable signature and looks. Maybe that’s why women from SoHo to Shanghai love his quirky collections.

Alex Kart has your in-depth look at the House of Holland Spring/Summer 2013 collection during London Fashion Week.
Theme: The Nineties. Moody, angsty, grungy teenager.

The Look: Mad for Metallic — Henry Holland is all about injecting the fun into fashion, with colorful and playful creations, and his S/S 2013 “Buzz Kill” collection was no exception. Models took to the London Fashion Week catwalk on an irreverent print parade, blowing up the grunge eras signature check and thrift-shop florals with an added touch of elegance.

The collection opened with a large, diamond print trouser suit ensemble, which quickly rolled to peplumed crop tops, bright dip-dye dungarees, printed jersey maxi’s, and high-waisted shorts — appearing in an explosion of colors. Each of the looks were clashed with shiny boots in jeweled tones of purple, emerald green, sapphire blue, and gold. Check out the statement buckles and open-back heels on the boots (a look to watch out for!)

Meanwhile low slung waistlines and loose jumpsuits were adorned with delicate lace trimmings and back panels, sparkling brocades were complemented by jewel encrusted beanies and embellished shoulder bags. But it would have been the brightly constructed dresses in splashes of acid yellow, that topped-off the understated glamor of the Holland ladies.

Hair & Makeup: Sultry, bronze-smokey eyes. Tousled platinum hair, parted in the middle, romantically pinned on either side.

The Music: Bassy soundtrack

Front Row: Kelly Osbourne, Alexa Chung, Pixie Geldoff, Laura Whitmore (TV presenter), Poppy Delevigne (model), Lauren Laverne (DJ).

Where to Wear: House of Holland defines all things glam, urban, and street making it the perfect choice for a downtown gallery opening!

Kristen Stewart wears silk shirt, £595. Wool/silk trousers, £935. Both Jonathan Saunders, from a selection, at Liberty and Matches. Patent leather belt, £60, LK Bennett. All make-up by L’Oréal Paris. Going to makeup test for tonight !!! Fashion is my religion !!!
Calvin Klein , im coming !!!

Watermelon is one of my favorite summer fruit. I’ve been eating it – without fork & knife -since I was a child and my grandfather often had a fresh slice for me at lunch. I not only like the taste, but I also love the color. It’s not strange that, as all beautiful & goodthings, it inspires fashion world. Sometimes only for its color, some other times also for its shape. Vivetta brand is quite famous for its skirts, bags and dresses inspired by nature. Probably you saw the watermelon skirt wore by the blonde salad for MFW. It’s a quite expensive brand, but you can find something for less from asos – like the shirt. To be honest I love the skirt, the bags, the Clinique lipstick (it seems to be the new summer “must have”), but the rest it’s probably too much! What do you think? do you agree? Are you going to add something in your wardrobe?

More rumors coming out of the infamous hit-and-miss Taiwanese publication DigiTimes today, this time claiming that Apple will release a 7-inch iPad in August, a new iPhone in September, and a 10-inch iPad later in the year, according to sources within Apple’s supply chain. This isn’t the first time we have heard rumors about a 7- to 8-inch iPad, but most speculation has pointed towards a 7.85-inch iPad.

Pegatron Technology reportedly has landed orders for a new-generation iPhone to be launched in September and a 10-inch iPad to be launched in the fourth quarter, according to Taiwan-based supply chain makers. Pegatron is currently an OEM for the iPhone 4S and new iPad.

While the 10-inch iPad and new iPhone will be manufactured in part by Pegatron Technology, the report claims that Foxconn will be responsible for production of the 7-inch iPad later in the year. While talk of a 7-inch iPad and launch of a new iPhone in September are not unheard of, the 10-inch iPad definitely seems less likely. All we know for certain is that Apple definitely has something up their sleeves for the remainder of 2012.
