No good deed goes unpunished for Mother Monster!

Last June, Lady Gaga was sued for allegedly over-charging for shipping on her “We Pray for Japan” wristbands sold through her website. The bracelets were being sold to raise money for victims of Japan’s devastating 2011 earthquake tsunami, and Gaga was hit with a $5 million dollar federal class action lawsuit. We are happy to report that the case has now been settled, and Gaga has agreed to donate $107,500 to people affected by the tragedy.

The bracelets were sold for $5 each and earned approximately $1.5 million, but many critics said shipping charges weren’t factored in and the promotion was misleading since the site said all proceeds would go directly to the relief efforts.

And even though Mother Monster’s team agreed to settle, she maintains their innocence in the case and continues to deny the suit had any merit. So once again, Gaga has taken the high-road and we applaud her.

Do you think Gaga was innocent? Did she do the right thing by settling the lawsuit?

It’s a sad day for Little Monsters around the world, Lady Gaga has had to cancel her sold out tour stop in Indonesia.

Mother Monster is in the midst of her ‘Born This Way Ball’ world tour, and the sold out June 3 show in Indonesia would have been the largest stop on the tour with 52,000 seats. Gaga has had to cancel the show following protests by Islamic critics and conservative lawmakers, who said her sexy clothes and dance moves will corrupt the youth. The critics say the show threatens the country’s moral fiber.

The head of hardline Islamic Defender Front, Salim Alatas explained of Gaga, “She’s a vulgar singer who wears only panties and a bra when she sings and she stated she is the envoy of the devil’s child and that she will spread satanic teaching.”

A National police spokesman in Indonesia said today that the permit for the concert had been denied following the loud criticism. The police were worried they could not guarantee security and the safety of the concert, and were urged to deny the permit, therefore cancelling the show.

Gaga is no stranger to controversy, as her South Korea concerts were banned for anyone 18 and younger. We’re sure this is NOT the last of the controversy Gaga will face while on her world tour. Do you think the lawmakers and conservatives in Indonesia went too far by denying the permit for the concert? Leavvvve a comment!
